It is amazing how topical that Thoreau excerpt remains today. What I'm hearing here is this here: Environmentalists should apply Lincoln's approach to Thoreau's theme, lest we make angry the "Christian vandals" Thoreau mentions. Hmm... it probably would work better than burning down ski resorts and spray-painting SUV's.


That Lincoln quote is my favorite. Rick's going to choke over this. He's out of town without internet for a week, but Lincoln is his soulmate. You could have dueling quotations.
