The list of people I am 'reading' on a regular basis is growing just about every week these days. So if you feel like investigating my voyeuristic meanderings, please feel free to peruse those links over yonder ---> under the heading: People I Know (Of). The 'of' being there to discern the fact that I've not met most of them. Their on-line presence is simply one with which I feel some connection. So there.
Relatively recent additions are:
Lissa, Shiz, Tina.
(Go check them out; tell 'em Simon sent you. They'll say, "Simon? Who the f*#k is Simon?" Good times.)
I intend to keep that list small in that posting poignancy is more important than posting prolificacy. And my observation is that most blogs tend to post links to 'stuff' without having very much content. (Would you eat a rack of ribs without the meat? Not likely, unless you had the strength of jaw to crack the bone and suck out the marrow. And if you're a vegan you would have ordered a cruelty-free salad in the first place.) So my linking criteria will winnow out what I consider to be the chaff.
That being said, I am aware that, barring a couple recent posts, I have been trending away from my preferred wont of familial introspection. Paul will set that to rights with a list of five questions I was horn-swoggled into agreeing to answer. If he tries to tell you that I volunteered to put myself out there and respond on my own, he's a good-fer nuthin' lying varmint. You can't trust anyone who enjoys lobbing blocks of granite down a sheet of pebbled ice and composes cowboy poetry. No sir.
The questions are as follows and will be answered sometime after the weekend, during which time I will be sequestering myself in the bathroom with nothing but a bottle of water, three strips of beef jerky (peppered) and a box of Crayola pencil crayons until I emerge bearing personal illumination and an unhealthy aroma. Stay tuned...
- Which young and foolish activity do you look back upon with embarrassment and chagrin? Full details please.
- If you were to be tragically taken from your family tomorrow, how would your wife describe you to your son when he is grown up?
- The Lions of Al-Rassan has recently been optioned by a major motion picture studio. What other novel would you most like to see given a movie treatment? What novel that you like should absolutely never be made into a movie, and why?
- You have lived in Ontario and Alberta. What is your take on the East/West Canadian political debate?
- What is the better second movie, Wrath of Khan or Empire Strikes Back, and why?
You'll note that there are six question marks but I'll be giving Paul the benefit of the doubt and answering them all. Sneaky bastage.
I got an e-mail from Lissa asking me to keep my freaking readers to myself. Honest.

And she seems like such a nice person on her site...

Hey, Simon ... How nice of you to give me a mention. I sure do appreciate it. Oh, and...I am working on that "new and improved me" pic......I happen to be extremely camera-shy, so it might take me a while !
The memorial service for the RCMP's sounded like something else. Nice to see that so many turned out to pay their respects ( glad to see my old home, Ontario, was represented ). Take care, Tina

My old home too, Tina. I was born there (K-W) and moved out west to Alberta back in '78.
