Man, can I ever relate to this article.
Left-handed students at the University of Saskatchewan are demanding more desks designed for them, so that they can write notes and exams in comfort.
My own tenure at the University of Alberta was slightly marred by countless hours in cookie-cutter lecture theatres designed for the right-handed student, with little or no consideration given to the members of the superior 10% of humanity that also graced that same space.
My solution to that predicament was to assume two desks, quite unapologetically, and write on the space to my left, leaving the right-hand tablet empty for an elbow rest.
I am quite fond of being left-handed; it's just that most righties don't understand some of the things they take for granted. Hand writing being one of the foremost examples. They, for instance, don't have to live with the dreaded 'inky pinky' syndrome...
