Please pardon the expletive, but my wife completely floored me with a realization that has been staring me in the face for nearly a month. One which should have been in the forefront of my mind, considering its complete and total obviousness.
For the past month, I have been swimmingly merrily through my days, at times blissfully contemplating the two weeks of holidays that I will be taking in the latter half of May this year. Our little family will spend most of that visiting family and friends in Ontario. We depart for Ontario at 12.50 PM on Friday, 20th May 2005.
Has it struck you yet? (It bloody well should have hit me at this point.)
Revenge of the Sith opens to North American audiences on Thursday, 19th May!! Do you realise the implications of this? I work all week up to Thursday evening. Our family leaves for Ontario on Friday. This will give me, at best, about a five-hour window Thursday night to see the biggest movie event in, like, forever on the eve of its release. Without any time to line up beforehand.
The implications of this are horrible to contemplate! I may not end up seeing the movie until sometime AFTER I arrive in Ontario! This is most definitely not a good thing...
