Greetings and salutations.
It appears that I'm directing my initial thoughts to the ether, since nobody yet is aware of the fact that I have decided to create this journal.
I had maintained my own website through my ISP, but have become frustrated by the fact that I am able only to update it from home through my cable modem, and have been confined to 10 MB of space on their server. I would much rather spend some time at work updating this sort of thing so I can focus on the more important things at home. It appears I'm calling this journal 'unimportant.' We'll see how important an outlet this becomes to me.
And as an outlet, what can you come to expect here? Well...
-I've been married for just over a year with a 5-month old son, so expect to hear all sorts of updates on the homefront; potentially of interest to very few people. (Are you doing the math on the son? Yes, he was a honeymoon baby.)
-I have very strong philosophical, spiritual and moral viewpoints. Those may wend their way here.
-I have growing political viewpoints.
-I sometimes feel inclined to make attempts at being witty.
-And I don't really know what else.
If you're curious about the URL, it's the result of my real name being mangled by the friendly spellcheck on one of the myriad Microsoft products. And the nickname stuck. Simian Farmer.
So there you have it. Certainly not the most poignant introductory post to make on a public journal. See you around.
